This is a brief interview of Bruce Lee by Harry Martin of KCRA-TV (Sacramento) on the set of the TV show The Green Hornet, 1966. Bruce Lee is 25 years old.

Harry Matin: Who’s the strange fellow on the bicycle here?

Other Person: I think his name is Bruce Lee. Looks very familiar as Cato.

Bruce Lee: Well do you need any help?

Other Person: Yea, a little Gung Fu going on around here?

Harry Martin: What is Gung Fu, Bruce?

Bruce Lee: Well Gung Fu is a Chinese form of combat. Arts like Karate or Jujitsu derive from Gung Fu.

Harry Martin: Now, you’re originally from San Francisco? Right?

Bruce Lee: Well, not really. Originally I’m from Hong Kong. In 59 I came over.

Harry Martin: Oh, well that’s close.

Other Person: Half way around the world here.

Bruce Lee: Yes.

Harry Martin: But don’t you have some Karate schools or something in San Francisco? I’m not up on it really I…

Bruce Lee: In Oakland really.

Harry Martin: And did you open up a school down here?

Bruce Lee: No, not yet, because you know everyday we’re shooting and you know pretty busy.

Harry Martin: Ok, what is the difference between Gung Fu and Karate?

Bruce Lee: Well the main difference I would say in my school is, its more offensive.

Harry Martin: It offends you more? Is this your first…

Other Person: It’s more aggressive wouldn’t you say, Bruce?

Bruce Lee: Yea, attack and defense are simultaneous.
